Frequently Asked Questions

Our pet sitting hours are 365 days of the year, 7 am to 9:30 pm. However, we do take some vacation days during the year and these will be posted on our social media pages. 

The large majority of our clients are dog and cats however, we can provide care for birds, rabbits, fish, guinea pigs, hamsters, and farm animals (horses, pigs, chickens, goats, etc.)

Soon we will provide the option of paying in Time to Pet by visa or mastercard. 

Services are typically paid on the day we provided the service or we will accept weekly bulk payments for clients who book multiple days a week. You also can pay in advance for services (credit on your account).

 There is an additional fee for visits on a statutory holiday (New Years Day,  Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday, Labour Day, Thanksgiving,  Christmas Eve after 6 PM Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve after 6 PM).

We do not charge for extra pets unless the number of pets requires longer visits (typically more than 3 cats and/or more than 3 dogs). 

We do not charge extra for weekends, local holidays or administering medication.

We will always do our best to accommodate last minute requests but we are a small team and this is not always possible. Vacation care with overnights and dog boarding are a couple of premium services we offer that should be booked as soon as possible. All services on holidays tend to fill up quickly and sometimes can be months in advance.

We recommend booking us when you book your vacation/wedding/business trip/event. 

There is no typical routine or schedule as all pets are as unique as people. When we meet we discuss what you would like us to do with your pet while we are visiting. We try to keep the dogs routine as close to their normal routine as possible. So if they get walked Morning, noon and bedtime that is when we walk them. If they never get walked but go in the backyard and play frisbee with the kids every afternoon, that’s what we do.

For dogs, a minimum of 3 visits is required and one of those visits must be a 30-minute visit, even if your dog does not walk for that long, they need the companionship and TL

We understand your concern. Not only are we a small family business but we are all fully insured and bonded under very specific Pet Sitting policy that covers all the unique issues associated with being in a client’s home and caring for their pets. All team members are bonded and any new team members have police background checks done on them before they start work. 

We make it super easy to complete your profile with us by using an app based software (Time to Pet). Once your and your pets information is complete, you can book a free meet and greet or schedule your first service. We will discuss access instructions for your home and if you have a key for access, we ask that you provide one to keep on file. 

After that, you have complete control of your account and can send service requests in Time to Pet or by contacting us directly via phone, email or messaging our business page. 

Yes, absolutely. We understand the pandemic has created some new issues with pets and in general some pets are not comfortable home alone (separation anxiety) or they simply cannot hold their bladder due to age (being young or old). We also will break up 30 minute and 60 minute services, for example, if you wanted two 15 minute check ins we would charge you for the 30 minute visit rather than two separate check-ins.
